Matt Johnson, Registered Massage Therapist

Matt Johnson
Matthew is a registered Massage Therapist who completed his training through the intensive program at Algonquin College. Prior to massage, he completed his Bachelor of Kinesiology from Acadia University in Nova Scotia. While there, Matthew volunteered as a coach for the strength and conditioning program where he trained many athletes to help facilitate their sport performance. His Kinesiology background works synergistically with his massage training to guide an informed and effective approach to his treatments.
Originally from Perth, Matthew feels privileged to have grown up in a small town and to be able to provide care for people in Lanark County. Matt is passionate about client education, and providing everyone the tools to be in control of their own health. His approach to care emphasizes client engagement throughout the treatment to provide results based directly on the clients’ goals. He uses specific massage techniques ranging from deep tissue, lymphatic drainage, myofascial release, soft tissue and joint mobilization to help clients achieve these goals.
Matthew became an RMT so that he could use his knowledge of and fascination for the human body to help clients feel and function their best. In his spare time Matt is a recreational powerlifter, and occasional downhill skier. With his young family he enjoys going on walks and hikes, and camping trips in the summer.
